Entrance Permits
You need an entrance permit before you make any modifications to an existing entrance or construction of a new entrance within the Municipality of Central Elgin's road allowance. Please refer to the Entrance Policy for more information.

Fees
There is a standard $222.50 non-refundable permit fee. Security deposits will vary depending on location and driveway entrance extents. All fees are in line with the User Fee By-law.

Why is an Entrance Permit required?
- Creation of a new entrance to private property from the municipal road allowance
- Modification or relocation of an existing entrance (i.e. widening, new location, removal, etc.)
- Creation of a temporary entrance (for construction projects as an example)
- Paving or resurfacing an existing entrance.
How wide can I make my entrance?
Road Occupancy Permit
You need a road occupancy permit prior to commencing any work, project or bin storage located within the Municipality's road allowance (i.e. boulevard, sidewalk, and/or roadway). You cannot work or store material without first obtaining this permit. We evaluate each location individually.
